Braised Lamb Shanks with Tomato

THIS MEAL IS IMPRESSIVE, affordable, and really tasty.

 Serves: 4  - Time: 1 hour 30 minutes  - Calories: 338  - Fat:  7g  - Protein: 38g  - Net carbs: 10g 


  • A ¾ cup of dry red wine 
  • ¾ tsp. of dried oregano 
  • A ¼ cup of chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (opt.) 
  • ½ tsp. of freshly cracked black pepper 
  • 1 tsp. of dried basil 
  • 1 tsp. of kosher salt 
  •  1x 28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes 
  • 2 tbsp. of olive oil 
  • 4 lamb shanks 
  • 4-6 minced garlic cloves 


1.Pour the oil into the Instant Pot and set the pot on sauté mode. 

2.Add the lamb to the pot and season with pepper and salt. Be sure to cook until all the sides are browned. 

3.Remove it from the Instant Pot and set aside. 

4.Get a pan and throw the garlic into it, then add the wine and cook for 2 minutes. Scrap off the browned bits. 

5.Add the tomatoes, oregano, and basil and cook for an additional 2 minutes. 

6.Return the lamb to the pot and cover the lid. Set on manual and cook for 45 minutes on high pressure. 

7.Naturally release the pressure for 15 minutes and quick release the remaining pressure. 

8.Remove the lid and take the lamb out. 

9.Allow resting for 10 minutes. Slide and serve.
